RULES OF WEIGHT TRAINING EXERCISES

Before starting weight training, perform 5–10 minutes of warm-up and stretching exercises. These activities increase your performance and reduce the risk of injury.

For your own safety and the safety of other gym members, make sure that the safety clips are secured when performing free-weight exercises.

Before using a weight station or free weights, if you have not used this or similar equipment before, obtain information from a fitness instructor.

If you experience any discomfort or dizziness during your routine exercise program, stop exercising immediately and inform the staff. Do not resume your exercise program without consulting your doctor.

Continue to breathe normally while exercising. Never hold your breath.

Perform your exercises in accordance with your program.

Do not train with weights beyond your capacity. Do not lift weights that you are not sure you can handle.
8
Do not lift heavy weights without assistance from an instructor.
